Jay Morrison

Hi, I’m Jay…

Ballarat city Council elections are in october 2024. i’m considering standing but want to hear from you first!

My name is Jay and I live in Ballarat North. I ran for Council in 2020 but fell just short of getting elected.

You may not know this yet but the boundaries for the next election have changed - and how we elect our Councillors has changed too.

I now live in Wendouree Ward. It takes in Ballarat North, most of Wendouree, and part of Invermay Park.

I’m considering standing as a candidate for Wendouree Ward, but first I want to hear about the issues that matter most to you.

I value your opinions and want to ensure that your views are represented if I decide to run again.

Last Council election I campaigned on improving our local infrastructure - including getting a fairer share of funding, and fixing our local roads, footpaths, parks and playgrounds.

I campaigned for an on-demand twice-yearly hard rubbish collection service and for reducing rates by cutting wasteful spending and offering rebates for households.

I also developed a plan for more secure, local jobs and addressing housing issues that involved making simple changes to Council’s current policies and practices.

But are these issues still relevant? What do you care about?

I’m running a community survey that I’d like you to complete - it’ll only take 5 minutes! Click the button below to complete it.

I know that Councillors can make a positive difference to our community but I want to know that I’d represent you properly and have community support if I decide to run again.

I look forward to hearing from you!
